This started as a blog with my 6th graders to encourage communication with technology. It was a journey filled with excitement and frustration, but never dull... Now it's a blog to highlight the work of my amazing 5th graders. Life is about change.

First Two Weeks of the New School Year!
This has been a great two weeks of the new school year. We have already worked on a ton of math review, written two poems, read a whole bunch of books, reached about 1/3 of the way through our class novel, The Search for Shadowman, learned about archaeology, and gone on a field trip to the Nevada Museum of Art!
I will be posting your poetry soon, so anyone can log on and read it. What fun! By commenting on posts to our Blog, you can earn your right to your own blog - which means you choose the design you like, which widgets (like gadgets) to add, and what to say to the world.
I look forward to everyone reading your comments, but remember, a comment is adding to a conversation - not just saying "Cool!" or "Wow!" You should have more to say than that... Here is a link to a video a 3rd grade class made to help people learn how to leave quality comments.
Mrs. Yollis' Class Blog on Comments
We should make one for the teachers at our school - some of them don't know how to use a blog yet...
